External PD Calibrator
Home >> Technical >> External PD Calibrator

The calibration of a PD test circuit is a necessary step in the test procedure. The system is fed
with a calibration pulse of a known value of apparent charge.
- Battery powered
- Synchronization with mains frequency
- Adjustable apparent charge
Design Features
The calibrator Type HVS 998/0011 feeds a short duration current pulse of a known magnitude through the
terminals of either the de-energized test objet [direct calibrationJ or the coupling device (indirect calibration)
The PD detector will be adjusted to the value of the apparent charge given by the calibrator .
Synchronization with the line Frequency is supported through optical coupling.
The calibrator complies with IEC 270.
